EMPOWERING EDUCATORS FOR COMPETENCY BASED ASSESSMENT
A two-day CBSE Capacity Building Programme on Competency-Based Assessment organized for teachers of the Middle and Senior School was aimed at deepening understanding of competency-driven learning and assessment, its significance in transforming assessment methods and implementation strategies as envisioned in the NEP 2020. The sessions also equipped educators with tools to design learning outcomes-aligned, skill-focused assessment tasks that promote higher-order thinking.
The session was facilitated by CBSE Resource Persons, Dr. S. Shankara Chary and Mr. P.V. Sai Ranga Rao, who brought with them rich academic insight, practical tools, and interactive skills.
EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING AND RESILIENCE
A thought-provoking and empowering session on Emotional Well-being and Resilience was conducted by the CEO, Ms. Pratima Sinha, as part of the school’s ongoing commitment to holistic professional development and staff wellness.
The session emphasized the importance of acknowledging emotions, building inner strength, and cultivating a positive mind-set in both personal and professional spheres. Practical strategies were shared for nurturing emotional balance, and developing resilience in the face of everyday challenges. Through reflective discussions and real-life insights, teachers were encouraged to prioritize their mental well-being while also supporting the emotional needs of their students.
The session served as a powerful reminder that emotionally strong educators lay the foundation for compassionate, responsive, and resilient classrooms.
SILENT CURRICULUM: LESSONS BEYOND WORDS
An insightful and enriching session on the Silent Curriculum, led by Principal, Dr. Syamali Chowdhury, shed light on the powerful lessons that lie beyond spoken words. The session illustrated how students often learn more from what they observe than from what they are explicitly taught.
From the tone of our voice and the rituals we uphold, to the subtle cues embedded in daily routines, every element of the school environment communicates values, expectations, and beliefs. This unspoken curriculum shapes mind-sets, fosters emotional safety, and cultivates a deep sense of belonging.
We don’t just teach subjects, we teach life, in ways that are often silent, yet deeply profound.
DISCOVER YOUR LEARNING STYLE
The engaging session on Discover Your Learning Style led by Vice Principal, Ms. Beena Govind highlighted the four distinct learning styles: Activists, Reflectors, Theorists, and Pragmatists using Kolb’s Experiential Learning Cycle.
The interactive session enabled teachers to reflect on their own learning preferences and explore how these can be leveraged to enhance classroom practices, making teaching more effective and learner-centric.
‘Knowing how you learn is the first step towards unlocking your true potential!’
LEAD WIN
A leadership session titled Lead Win was conducted by Ms. Pratima Sinha, CEO of DSR Educational Society. The session was designed to provide an in-depth exploration of effective leadership philosophies and actionable strategies that contribute to meaningful school transformation.
Facilitating a series of reflective discussions and interactive activities, the session guided participants through a purposeful journey of self-awareness and strategic thinking. It enabled leaders to revisit and evaluate their individual leadership styles and re-align their leadership actions with the school’s core vision and values.
The session was both insightful and empowering, reinforcing the importance of purposeful leadership in fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the school ecosystem.
THE ART OF COMMUNICATION
The Pre-primary and Primary teachers were engaged in transformative Communication Skills sessions led by our CEO, Ms. Pratima Sinha.
These sessions were designed to equip teachers with practical tools to enrich classroom dialogues, enhance parent engagement, and foster confident, compassionate communication. Through real-world strategies and reflective practices, teachers gained valuable insights to elevate their impact in and beyond the classrooms.
