"A positive workplace is where trust is unquestioned, professional responsibilities are high and mistakes are opportunities to improve." Mr. Arup Sinha, the Chief Operating Officer, conducted an informative session explaining the roles and responsibilities of Academic staff, Non-Academic staff to run the school efficiently. This session provided an insight into HR and Admin department's working style and structure to Academic Coordinators and facilitators. Here are few glimpses from the session.

A very insightful and enriching session on ‘Aesthetic Learning’ was facilitated by Ms. Pratima Sinha, CEO, DSR Educational Society for the educators of K1 to Grade 4 on 06 June 2023 and for Grades 5 to 8 on 07 June 2023.
The sessions highlighted the various teaching concepts that could be followed to incorporate the aesthetic elements into teaching-learning. The educators were guided through various activities to understand how our children could be provide the direction of thought towards appreciating and understanding the aesthetic value of everything around them.
The sessions concluded with a beautiful take away for the educators. “Teach your children to find beauty in everything around them, allow them to listen to the rhythm of the world, let them learn through their senses and that’s how you create every space into a happy learning space for your children”.
BELTraining

An incredibly well-designed two day Professional Development Workshop was conducted for our teachers by Birla Edutech Limited. The expert trainers Ms. Pushpita Chattopadhyay and Ms. Megha shared practical insights and cutting-edge methodologies, emphasizing on endless possibilities to transform our classrooms into dynamic hubs of knowledge. The activities conducted during the workshop focused on empowering the educators on varied pedagogical approaches, innovative teaching strategies for experiential, interactive and active learning in the classrooms. The workshop also highlighted the skill based techniques for effective reading and speaking skills for children and strategies to enhance their reading skill.
The energy and enthusiasm were palpable as educators explored interactive approaches and envisioned a future where every student can thrive.

A two day interactive and informative CBSE CBP session on inclusion and inclusive strategies was conducted by the Resource Persons; Dr. Sanjeev Nampally, Principal, Fortune Butterfly Senior Secondary School and Mr. Prasad Nukala, Principal, Meluha School.
The session primarily focused on the need for inclusion and its importance through various interesting games and engaging activities. The highlight was the detailed understanding of the examination provisions and exemptions provided by CBSE for children with special needs, the SOP for availing the concessions, the flexibility in choosing subjects for the CWSN, the role of a Special Educator and Counsellor in schools through interesting role plays. The resource persons also discussed in detail the model lesson plan to cater to the needs of a diverse classroom.
The two day session emphasized on the value of collaboration, cooperation and commitment of educators towards making the school inclusion friendly.
Communication – the Changing Art
Sessions on ‘Communication – the Changing Art?’and ‘Professionalism – Work Ethics & Etiquettes’ were conducted for the Admin Staff by Vice Principal, Ms.BeenaGovind.
‘The Tree Swing’ analogy and ‘the Curse of Knowledge’ experiment elaborated the communication pitfalls. Various aspects of professionalism through live examples effectively explained the etiquettes & ethics to be followed at the workplace.
Grooming Session
Dress the way you want to be addressed so that you can manage yourself before others manage you is a strong belief of our Guest Ms. Chaitanya from Style Chai who gave an amazing insight on the importance of grooming for the leadership team of Birla Open Minds International School, Kollur. An opportunity is required to make the first ever lasting impression to exhibit the performance and to create a success story for oneself. The session focused NOT ON CHANGING but ON ADAPTING to the environment.

A two-day workshop on ‘Implementing Competency Based Teaching Learning to Strengthen Competency Focused Assessments’ for the Middle and Senior Section Teachers (CBSE) of Birla Open Minds International School was conducted by Ms Pratima Sinha, CEO, DSR Educational Society.
Focusing on Bloom’s Taxonomy, the Workshop Leader emphasized on the significance of fostering competencies in children and highlighted the importance of assessments and evaluation practices which are considered to be the pillars supporting learners' growth and development. The need for assessments to not only measure conceptual understanding but also foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity was clearly enunciated. Thoughtful evaluation was acknowledged as one of the most important requirements to create an environment that would promote continuous improvement, celebrate progress, and ensure equitable opportunities for all learners.
Human Resources
"Human Resources: Where people are the heart of our organization, and their growth and well-being are our top priority."
Ms. Beulah Mohan, Head, HR & Operations conducted an insightful session on HR Policies and Operation Procedures & Processes to be followed by all at school. The staff gained valuable knowledge on how the HR Department works to foster a positive work environment where all employees thrive. Ms. Beulah explained and clarified all doubts from talent acquisition to professional development, employee exit, and all other policies, enhancing an understanding of the employees' journey at our school.
XQ Video Lab
Technology shouldn’t just be a gimmick to motivate learning. It should open a whole new world of possibilities for learning.

Technology integration is not a one day event. It should be a part of everyday classroom like crayons and books. A session was organized to equip and facilitate teachers to assist students in learning video creation skills in a fun and engaging manner. Teachers were provided a hands-on session to integrate video-making with school curriculum by making it relevant for every subject. The platform is set where students collaborate on academic and passion projects, explore new technology, learn to express their ideas in creative ways and eventually become confident communicators for life!
Maxims of Teaching
Teachers attended an interactive session on Maxims of Teaching conducted by our Principal, Ms.Syamali Chowdhury. The focus was on equipping the faculty with timeless principles that can transform classroom engagements and enhance student learning.
The 11 Maxims of Teaching are important universal facts that provide guidelines to teachers to disseminate knowledge to learners more effectively.
Session on Phonics
The wonderful teachers of Pre-primary and Primary attended an engaging and interactive session on Phonics conducted by Ms. Sonal Ravi Andrews, Founder, Integrated, Preschool Teachers Training Academy.
The session was incredibly informative and the interactive element made the learning process fun and practical. The session delved into the fundamentals of phonics, exploring effective methods to teach letter-sound relationship.
Empowering Educators through Storytelling
An inspiring session on Storytelling as a Pedagogical Tool was conducted for the Pre-primary and Primary teachers by Ms. Pratima Sinha, CEO, DSR Educational Society and Ms. Ami Iyer, PY Academic Coordinator.
The educators explored the transformative power of storytelling in the classrooms. From sparking creativity and imagination to making complex concepts more relatable and memorable, storytelling is an invaluable strategy to enhance student learning and engagement.
It was indeed an enlightening session. Together, we are shaping a brighter future through the magic of stories!
CBSE-CBP Session: Uses of Artificial Intelligence in Classrooms
An informative session on the Uses of AI in Classrooms was conducted by the CBSE Resource Persons as a part of the CBSE Capacity Building Programme.
This enlightening session provided invaluable insights into the innovative applications of Artificial Intelligence in Classrooms. Our educators are now better equipped to integrate AI tools to enhance student learning, personalize educational experiences and create more engaging classroom environments.
A big thank you to CBSE as well as the Resource Persons for this enriching Programme. We’re excited to implement these new strategies in our classrooms!

Birla Open Minds School Parent Involvement Committee is comprised of strong and very involved parent representatives of the school. Every grade is represented by one parent who is selected to be a part of the committee with parents, teachers and management representatives as the stakeholders. This committee meets quarterly through the year to discuss all the matters pertaining to the growth and well being of the school and students
The OM-SPIC members also channelize the involvement of parents in different school activities like field trips, sports meets, celebrations and so on. The OM-SPIC and school share a wonderful rapport and work together for the growth and success of the school.
